North Korea set to execute anyone caught watching porn

According to testimony from a defector contained in a recent article, enforcers are seeking to banish foreign television, haircuts, and even birthday parties as part of the North Korean dictator's efforts to crack down on "foreign influences."

The secret units, referred to as "gruppa" or "non-socialist groups," are charged by Pyongyang with pursuing infractions of the official ideology of the Communist Party.

The study claims that the organizations "act as a covert tool, which is employed by the government to achieve their ultimate objectives of ubiquitous surveillance and the power to thoroughly oversee each and every resident."

North Korea rigorously forbids access to outside media, especially anything regarded to be "Western." Dissension is harshly penalized.

Kim Jong Un sees South Korea as an American puppet state and is extremely watchful of any South Korean media that enters China out of concern for the potential influence it may have.

For some time now, any indication that someone may have been watching media produced in the South has been met with harsh repercussions.

The Database Centre for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB), a Seoul-based organization, claims that Kim is tightening his hold on the gruppa even more.

People are being tried for anything from desertion, drug dealing, smuggling, and begging to missing work, traffic infractions, adultery, hair dyeing, religious activities, and engaging in "decadent culture," which can include parties.

One witness, who was quoted in the paper, claimed that "it is worse than the Kim Jong Il era." "More barbed wire fences have been erected, and the border has tightened. Additionally, it was mandated that any border crossers be shot at directly.

"I've heard of people getting killed for disseminating immoral cultural materials. After Kim Jong Un assumed leadership, one individual was put to death for watching sonography and prostitution at his home.

"They start by looking at your attire. What kind of music you like to listen to, what movies you like to see, and whether you've colored your hair. A group cannot celebrate a birthday together.
