According to an anonymous club source, N'Golo Kante, the French midfielder who won the World Cup, has signed a three-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad. The 32-year-old underwent a complete medical examination before finalizing the deal. Kante, who currently plays for Chelsea, has a history of injuries and missed a significant portion of the current season due to a hamstring problem.
The source did not disclose the financial details of the contract. This signing is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to attract prominent players to their domestic Saudi Pro League, taking advantage of the country's wealth in the oil industry. On Tuesday, Karim Benzema, the 35-year-old Real Madrid striker and former Ballon d'Or winner, was also announced as a major signing for Al-Ittihad, with a three-year contract.
Earlier this year, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia in a deal reported to be worth over 400 million euros. The Saudi officials have reportedly contacted a list of 10 targets, including Benzema, Kante, and Argentine legend Lionel Messi, as part of their ongoing negotiations.
