The Awutu Bereku District Police Command has detained 22-year-old Bright Lacey and his fiancée Linda Asare after they reportedly killed their three-week-old son at Fetteh Kakraba in the Gomoa East District of Ghana's Central Region for money.
Oyerepa News has learned that although the suspect and his girlfriend dwell in the same neighborhood, they do so in different homes.
Unaware of his ulterior motive, the suspect reportedly paid his girlfriend and the baby a visit on Monday, January 22, 2024, at around 11:00 p.m. By doing so, he managed to outwit his fiancée and take the baby, who was found dead a short while later with a severe cut on his neck, just minutes after the father had left.
When the community came together in response to the woman's cry for help, they discovered that the young child had been decapitated and left in the middle of the bush.
Police are holding the offenders while they conduct further inquiries.
