A 10-year-old child rushed a police station and demanded to be taken into an orphanage after becoming upset with his mother's reprimands for not doing his homework and violently ran away from his parents' home.

He claims that he has exhausted his ability to exercise restraint in response to his mother's nagging and that living at an orphanage would be more fun.

Online in China, CCTV footage of the youngster entering the Huixing Police Station in the Yubei neighbourhood of the Chongqing Municipality has been circulating.

"Every day my mother yelled at me for leaving my homework undone. She merely badgers me every day to study. The boy told the authorities, "I'd rather go to an orphanage," according to odditycentral.com.

He agreed to give the police his parents' phone number, which they used to call his mother, who verified reprimanding her son for not completing his late homework. She continued, expressing disbelief that the young kid had responded to her reprimand with such venom that he expressed a desire to live in an orphanage.

After numerous attempts to convince him that staying at his parents' place will benefit him, his father was summoned to come take him up.

The situation has drawn fascinating responses. Some people have claimed that the boy's behaviour is typical of a generation of apathetic youngsters, while others have praised the police for their success in bringing the family back to harmony.
