The issuance of PIN Codes for the 2023–2024 national service year was announced by the National Service Scheme (NSS).
The NSS Secretariat announced the distribution of PIN Codes to 142,381 final year students from 125 approved tertiary schools nationwide who have registered for the mandatory national service in a statement dated August 1, 2023.
"The management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has today, released PIN Codes for total of 142,381 final year students from 125 accredited tertiary institutions in the country who have so far registered to enrol to do their mandatory national service for the 2023/2024 service year," part of the statement read.
This excludes defaulters who asked to be enlisted on this year's service enrolment, according to the secretariat.
"All eligible Ghanaian students in their final year are hereby requested to obtain their PIN Codes with their respective school index numbers and dates of birth by logging onto the Scheme's website, https://www.nss.gov.gh.
"The next step is to proceed to any ADB Bank Ltd. branch and make a payment of GHC 40.00, or alternatively, to activate the enrollment process, pay GHC 41,000 using the MTN MoMo platform. The registration period will end on Saturday, August 19, 2023," it stated.
In order for the Scheme to process their enrollment for the 2023–2024 national service, it said, "Management urges accredited tertiary institutions that have not yet submitted their supplementary final year lists to do so as soon as possible."
Additionally, approved tertiary institutions were requested by the Scheme to submit their additional final year lists as soon as possible.
The message said, "All eligible Ghanaian students in their final year are advised to ensure that they physically complete the enrolling process to minimise errors that may later hinder processing for their deployment.
