The circumstances surrounding the drugging and burning of an 85-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife by their 52-year-old biological daughter are being looked into by the police in Lagos State.
The woman has remained unconscious while the elderly guy was pronounced dead at the hospital where they were taken.
The incident was reported to Tribune Online by Benjamin Hundeyin, the image maker in charge of the state police command.
According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday at City Gate Estate along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in the Lusada neighborhood of Okokomaiko.
It was learned that Priscilla Izokou, 80, and Pa Michael Izokou, 85, were both put under anesthesia by 52-year-old Aleremolen Izokpu.
Her sleeping parents were allegedly set on fire by the suspect, who fled the scene of the incident.
One of the suspect's siblings, Akugbe Izokou, informed the police of the incident after receiving a phone call from one of his younger sisters.
According to Superintendent of Police Hundeyin, who spoke to Tribune Online, "Information received from the DPO Okokomaiko division has it that on January 12, 22, at around 9:00 a.m., someone reported at the station that on November 30, 22, at around 15:00 a.m., he received a phone call from his younger sister, one Osemudiame Izokpu, alleging that their older sister, one Aleromolen, 52, allegedly drugged their parents,
Detectives stopped by the spot. The injured victim and the corpse were examined, photos were taken, and the corpse was placed in the mortuary at the Badagry Hospital during the visit to the hospital.
Additionally, Hundeyin said that more has been done to catch the guy who is running away.
