Former GH ‘kponkpon’ labourer turns professional boxer after traveling abroad

This is the remarkable story of Jackson Freezy Macbones, a former Ghanaian menial worker who rose through the ranks to become a professional boxer.

Freezy Macbones, born Seth Gyimah, fled Ghana for the United Kingdom in search of brighter pastures.

He claimed that when he was in Ghana, he lived in terrible poverty, struggling every day to make ends meet. He was doing "kponkpon" to make ends meet. Kponkpon is a menial labor done by unskilled workers for a daily wage.

Freezy Macbones captioned his throwback photo

"Life is so funny I still remember when I came to London for the first time .. I was stranded, couldn’t speak good English. A whole lot happened and I ended up sleeping outside. Now am on live"

Freezy Mabiones, who reached the pinnacle of his boxing career, claimed it could only be God since he never imagined he could make it a few years ago when he was living in a dark room and had to carry concrete at a building site before he could eat. His throwback photo exposes the shady story of his meteoric climb and the deplorable position in which he once found himself. The 31-year-old, who prefers to go by his ring name Freezy MacBones, is about to turn pro after a successful amateur career.

His precise knockout abilities and ring dexterity have earned him the prestigious moniker "next Mike Tyson." Freezy Macbones began boxing four years ago, after arriving from Ghana in 2012, after being identified as a raw talent with the potential to develop into a world-class boxing professional. Freezy Macbones is an amateur boxer from Loughborough Junction, a slum in south London. To assist the local community, Freezy hosts a free daily exercise workshop to which everyone are welcome.
