Effective today, Monday, May 1, 2023, the National Communications Authority (NCA) in collaboration with the telcos has enabled a shortcode for the public to verify numbers linked to their Ghana Cards.
There have been multiple reports of users regretting bogus persons who exploited the system to link people's Ghana Cards to their numbers, prompting the need for a standardized and simple approach that will allow them to verify the numbers attached to their Cards.
Telecommunications networks were then hired to create a shortcode that will allow subscribers to check the quantity of SIM cards attached to their Ghana Cards.
"There will be no need for Subscribers to physically go to the Telco to verify the same when the shortcode is operational, which will be by the end of April 2023, after testing has been completed and approved."
